Assurity Life Insurance Company's origins are rooted in a century-long legacy of providing long-term security to policyholders, earning generations of customers' confidence and trust.

Focused on serving the needs of Middle America, Assurity specializes in providing innovative protection-based financial solutions for every stage of life. Assurity products can be tailored according to specific individual, family or business situations. We understand that consumers have unique protection needs and individual preferences for how they purchase their insurance protection. Assurity products and services are available through a nationwide network of brokers who serve individual clients one on one; to employees through their place of work; and by direct mail.

Company History

Our company combined the strength of three longtime Lincoln, Nebraska-based insurers—Assurity Life, Security Financial Life and Lincoln Direct Life—which joined as a single operating company in 2007 under the Assurity name. Each of our original companies began serving customers in Eastern Nebraska communities in the late 1800s before establishing their permanent headquarters in Lincoln.

Assurity Life today is a diversified financial services organization, licensed in 49 states and the District of Columbia. We value and maintain the principles on which our original companies were founded—our mutual company heritage with its basic premise of working for the best interests of our policyholders and an unrelenting commitment to financial strength and stability.

Recognition

Cornerstone Award
Assurity received the prestigious Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Cornerstone Award in 2008. This award is presented annually to a local company that shows outstanding leadership through involvement in civic activities and innovative, customer-driven services. Governor's Excellence in Wellness Award
Assurity earned the Governor's Excellence in Wellness Award presented by Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman in 2008 for its program promoting associates' wellness and healthy living.

Integrity Award

President's Volunteer Service Award
Assurity earned the President's Volunteer Service Award recognizing home office associates' participation in the Meals on Wheels program. Assurity received the Bronze level award in both 2007 and 2008.

Our Community Involvement

At Assurity, we put our mission into practice every day, not only by serving our customers, but also through our meaningful commitment to strengthening our community. Assurity associates devote their time and effort to many company-sponsored volunteer activities: blood drives, Paint-A-Thon, Habitat for Humanity, holiday "giving tree," delivering meals to seniors, serving as youth mentors and reading with elementary students, to name a few.

We are proud to be a pacesetter company for the annual United Way and related agencies' fund drive. Assurity was recognized as one of the Top 10 employers supporting the 2008 United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County campaign. Assurity has been among the Top 10 community supporters several times in recent years. Based on a strong level of associate participation, Assurity has also been a Pacesetter Company for the annual United Way workplace campaign nearly all of the past 19 years.

Other ways we reach out to the community include our support of arts, cultural, athletic and human services endeavors. We believe in demonstrating our role as a protector of lives and well-being by investing in the quality of life in our community.
